This crochet cardigan is beginner level, and sized for infant sizes 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, and 24 months!  Materials:

  • Size 5 Yarn in Color A and Color B
    • Color A: 200, 250, 350, 400, 450 yards
    • Color B: 50, 50, 75, 75, 75 Yards
  • 6.0MM/ US 10/ J Crochet Hook
  • Stitch Markers
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Measuring Tape

Abbreviations:

  • SC: Single Crochet
  • CH: Chain
  • HDC: Half Double Crochet
  • Sl St: Slip Stitch
  • F/O: Finish off (Slip stitch and weave in ends)

Gauge: 

12 Stitches by 13 Rows of single crochet = 4×4 inch square

Measurements:

This pattern is written with a neutral ease

This means that your finished garment will be the same size as your actual bust/chest measurement. Please see the below information to choose the right size for your or your recipient.

Chest Measurement: (measure around the chest with a fabric tape measure)

3 Months: 16 inches

6 Months: 17 inches

12 Months: 18 inches

18 Months: 19 inches

24 Months: 20 inches.

The Sleeves

Set Up: Lay Cardigan Flat, with the right side facing up. Fold the front Panels on top of the back PAnel and whip Stitch Seam across the shoulders. Turn Cardigan right side out and attach yarn in the armpit.

Round 1: SC around 28, 28, 32, 32, 36, placing 1 SC per row of panel.

Round 2: SC around

Round 3: SC 2 in Color A, SC 1 in Color B, *SC 2 in Color A, SC 1 in Color B* Repeat from * to * around. Finish uneven stitches with Color A.

Round 4: SC around in Color A

Roound 5-6: Repeat Row 4.
